竹富島の種子取祭 世持御嶽へ戻る参詣の集団

集落の主事宅を訪問する「参詣」を終えた集団は、午前10時頃世持御嶽に戻ってくる。庭の芸能を奉納する世持御嶽前の広場で、世乞いの巻き歌を歌い、ガーリが行われる。ガーリが終わると庭の芸能が始まる。

Seed Harvest Festival of Taketomi Island
竹富島の種子取祭は、毎年10月～11月の甲申から壬辰の日までの9日間行われる。もともと粟の種まきから始まり、豊かな実りと収穫を祈願するための島の祭りであった。現在は7日目と8日目にあたる「庚虎」と「辛卯」の日に行われる奉納芸能が中心になっている。2日間の芸能は、すべて島の人達によって準備される。
1日の仕事を終えた後、1ヶ月以上もかけて練習が行われる。踊り、狂言、組み踊りなど、その内容も多彩で、言葉や衣装も伝統を守って忠実に演じられる。
Tanadui Festival in Taketomijima is held from every October to November for 9 days, on days of dies faustus in the lunar-solar calendar.It originally started as a ritual of foxtail seed planting in a festival prayer for full harvest. At present the seed planting ritual has changed into an offering of the traditional performing arts on the seventh and eighth days.
The two-day performance is all prepared by the islanders. They practice the performance over a month after daily routine work.It has various contents such as traditional dances, a kyogen play, group dancing etc. The language and costume in the performance are preserved in a traditional manner.
